Message from the principal

I am Lynette du Toit, the principal of ACUDEO College Crystal Park.  I am very passionate about education and am very happy that my career path in education brought me to the exciting role of leading and managing this school. I believe in establishing systems that are reliable, efficient and effective in allowing our staff and learners to leverage all the opportunities for learning that a school offers. These include systems for keeping learners from being excluded from learning and growing or as we say falling through the cracks, systems for helping teachers grow professionally, and systems for dealing with the challenging dynamics that inevitably arise in a place filled with hundreds of complex, wonderful hearts and minds.

My teaching career started in 1998 as a secretary in Hoërskool Pretoria-Wes.  Whilst studying to become a teacher, I was given the opportunity to teach at the school.  In 2005 I accepted a teaching post at Hoërskool Tuine.  In 2011 I was promoted to Subject Facilitator in Afrikaans in the Tshwane-West District.  At the beginning of 2018 I was appointed as the Deputy Principal at ACUDEO College Kirkney and later that same year the management of the group offered me the position of Principal ACUDEO College Thornview Primary – now a Centre of Excellence in the group.

On 7 September 2021 I joined ACUDEO College Crystal Park as Principal. Our vision is to establish a School of Excellence in the community.  I look forward to partner with all our stakeholders on this new and exciting journey.”

Onyinye Kennedy- Matric learner

Being a student at Acudeo Crystal Park has definitely been a life changing experience. I have had the honour of being one of the first students who started out at Acudeo College in grade eight when the school first opened and it has been an interesting and yet beautiful experience watching the school grow to what it is today.

I can honestly say that in my last seven years of school before Acudeo College I have never received so much genuine love and support from my educators. Educators who pushed and teach us to be the best version of ourselves that we can be and who continue guiding us into the right path.

Academically I will say that for me and also from what I’ve seen from other learners who pass well, is that hard work really does pay off and with all the resources and technology that we have I have learnt that these things need to be taken for advantage because why not use these resources when we are fortunate enough to have them.

One thing that I personally love about my experience being in this school is all the wonderful opportunities that it has exposed me to. Like the JSE challenge, pi day, competing with other Acudeo branches in Mathematics and sports and overall just being allowed the opportunity to really have fun while still learning something new.

Overall being in the school has taught me a great deal besides actually learning and I have made such great friends and have met wonderful people that I know I won’t forget when I’m much older. I can genuinely say when I finish matric that high school was one of the best years of my life.
